Light and Shadow in Storytelling

Chiaro: bright or clear. Scuro: dark or obscure.

Chiaroscuro: the dramatic interplay of light and shadow on a two-dimensional page to create a sense, the illusion of, three-dimensions and depth.

Over the week we will explore how light and shadow can be a powerful tool in story telling, relating it to setting, characterisation, conflict, plot, point of view, and style. Through writing prompts and exercises, discussions, and reference to short stories and novel extracts, you will explore the light and shadow of your words, and an essential binary of art and life.

The cost of this course will be 950 euros. this includes 7 nights accomodation, the tuition and the welcome dinner.  

Pick-up and drop-off from the airport can be organised, by prior arrangement, at extra cost.
